So I’ve been hacking Typepad to create a weblog for a client – namely Ruth Carr – a lovely marketeer who’s on a VSO gig in India for a few months. Ruth needed a way to keep her clients informed of her progress, so a blog seemed appropriate. And of course on her return to the UK Ruth can keep her clients updated with project news and tales from the front.
Of all the CMS systems out there (such as the open source loveliness of Joomla and CMS Made Simple, to the commercial options as those of Six Apart and Expression Engine for example), Typepad seemed the right fit. There’s enough scope to create something unique looking without the need to do a bespoke design from scratch. As with all things interweb wise, it’s getting the right engine coupled with right design for the copy in question. It’s just a matter of fitness for purpose. So keep the posts coming Ruth ;-)
